  3.                         CashTrac 6.08 Installation Instructions
  4.  
  5.       Chapter 2 of the 60 page instruction manual provided on your new
  6.       distribution diskette describes the CashTrac installation procedure in
  7.       detail.  Documentation may be printed to a printer or to disk and may
  8.       be read using the DOS MORE command (see DOS manual).  This instruction
  9.       sheet explains how to print the manual and complete the installation.

  11.       Printing the complete manual:

  13.       Printing the instruction manual requires 60 pages of paper.  Make sure
  14.       your printer is set to the top of a page and is turned on.  Boot your
  15.       computer, set the default drive to A:, and put CashTrac distribution
  16.       disk in drive A:.  Run the configuration program by typing CONFIG
  17.       followed by the Enter key.  Press any key to go to the main menu, then
  18.       select option 2 (Printing Documentation).  To print to disk, in the
  19.       "Where to print" field, select a drive letter such as B or C and have
  20.       a disk with 140K free space in that drive, otherwise leave "P" for
  21.       printer.  Use the Enter or cursor down key to go to the Start Page
  22.       field and select "i" (without the quotes) to start printing with the
  23.       title page.  Leave the "Where is file" and End Page fields blank and
  24.       press the End key to begin printing.

  26.       Printing selected pages of the manual:

  28.       If you decide to print individual pages later, repeat the above
  29.       process, but select only the pages required to be printed.  Please
  30.       note that the documentation files are squeezed slightly and may only
  31.       be printed using the CashTrac configuration program.  Print to disk to
  32.       unsqueeze the files for reading on the screen or loading in an editor
  33.       program.  The file unsqueezed to disk is named CT6DOC.TXT.

  35.       Completing the installation:

  37.       When the manual is complete, press Esc to return to the main menu,
  38.       then exit to DOS.  Do not attempt to run the main CashTrac program at
  39.       this point, otherwise errors (Error 54, but no damage) will occur.  To
  40.       complete the installation, follow the detailed procedure in Chapter 2,
  41.       which consists of:

  43.       * Putting the command SET CT6=X in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file (otherwise
  44.         an ERROR 7 "out of memory" error will result under some
  45.         circumstances),
  46.       * Making new system and data disks, or an appropriate hard disk
  47.         subdirectory,
  48.       * Copying files to the appropriate disks,
  49.       * Running the configuration program to set colors and other default
  50.         values, and
  51.       * Converting old CashTrac data to the new format.
